Shagang reduces rebar prices for mid-January

It's reported that the Chinese steelmaker Shagang announced to cut its rebar prices by RMB130/ton for deliveries during January 11-20.

After the adjustment, its ex-work prices for HRB400 rebar with diameters of 16mm-25mm are at RMB3, 460/ton.

In addition, Shagang cut its ex-work prices for HPB 300 grade wire rods by RMB100/ton to RMB3, 440/ton.

Currently, spot rebar prices have declined further in eastern China since early January as the buying activity has slowed down due to weak demand from construction sector before the Chinese New Year holiday.
